Chances are you’ve been sharing your thoughts, ideas, and special moments out there on Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.) You have gotten likes, shares, and comments; you have built relationships and inspired your friends and family. But over time you have begun to feel like perhaps you want to do something more with that amazing content you’ve been sharing. Perhaps you would like to reach a bigger audience beyond your own circle of friends. Perhaps you would like to be an established authority in your subject. Maybe you have considered starting a blog, podcast, or YouTube channel. Possibly you have felt like God has called you to something greater than just sharing nice posts on Facebook.
Every ministry and business has a message. Could it be that God wants to do something more with you and through you? In this blog you will learn 3 ways how you can reach even more people with your message.
Start a Website
If you don’t have a website, this is the best place to start. A website is your online homebase where everything should lead back to. It is the the place you control, because inside social media, they have the control and can stop it anytime they want. From your website you can you can do almost anything related to digital marketing. You can share written, audio, and/or video content from your website. You can provide a list of the features that you offer. You can build your email list through a newsletter sign up form. A newsletter gives your followers a way to stay up-to-date with the newest and latest of what you’re saying and doing. You can have a contact page and let people know how to get in touch with you.
Although websites can be expensive, they don’t have to be. And although website design can be amazing it doesn’t have to be. Your website doesn’t have to be perfect nor expensive. It can be done quickly and easily at little cost. The primary cost will be the web hosting, theme, and web designer fees (if you don’t do it yourself). Yes there will be some time and money required, but it is well worth it.
When you have a website, you can be found on Google. People are right now searching for the very thing that you love to talk about. Once you have a website (with content) they can find you through Google searching. The result is that you will certainly reach more people. Your tribe – your following will grow and you will make a bigger impact!
Start A Blog, Podcast, or YouTube Channel
Once you have a website, the next thing you want to do is establish a Content Distribution Channel (CDC). Your CDC is the primary means which you intend to share your content, your thoughts, your ideas. Your platform, your CDC, is valuable in both ministry and business. If you truly have a message that you want to share with the world, then it is a worthwhile investment.
When you have a blog, podcast, or YouTube channel (CDC), your content can be shared very easily cross across multiple platforms at once. You can have a social sharing plug-in installed that makes this possible. Anyone who would read one of your blogs can then easily share your blog post to other platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit and/or Evernote. This is just not possible if you are trying to share from inside Facebook (for example), especially to multiple platforms. When you have a CDC, you can extend far beyond one or two social media channels.
Content inside social media which requires a login is not easy to access. Even when you are logged in, if you try to find old content, you’re going to be scrolling for a while. The search inside most social media just cant compare to Google searching your blog, podcast, or YouTube channel. With every new platform there is a whole new group of people, most of which were not consuming your content before. With it comes new people with fresh ears and fresh eyes. Through your blog, podcast, or YouTube channel, you can make an impact like never before.
Start A Facebook Page and/or Group
Facebook PAGES are a great way to introduce people to your business and/or ministry. Facebook GROUPS are an excellent way to build relationships with your people. FB Groups are much better for engagement and interaction as anybody can post and comment. In a Facebook Page only the admin can make new posts (followers can only comment). Facebook Pages are public where as Facebook groups are private and content can not be shared outside the group. They are both great tools to drive more traffic to your website, build your email list, and ultimately reach more people. PAGES and GROUPS are different but it is good to include both in your marketing strategy.
The truth is, not everybody necessarily wants to be your Facebook friend but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to be connected to you. It doesn’t mean they don’t want to follow you or learn more about you. Facebook Pages and Groups are a great way to build your brand and get your message out to more people.
These are just a few of the ways you can reach more people with your message. In our courses and coaching I teach many more ways and go into much more depth.
